PROJECT "TRUTH FOR PEACE"

EVACUATION 2022

The platform for the Release of Political Prisoners, together with I-DO Lab, will premiere the street performance "Evacuation 2022" in Prague, Brussels and Paris

Within the civil advocacy project Voices of the Occupation, the former prisoners of the Kremlin and Ukrainian director Olga Danyliuk will premiere the outdoor play "Evacuation 2022". "Evacuation 2022" reminds us about those sad pages of recent history and appling to the mutual solidarity across Europe.

The leading roles in the performance will be taken by Fedir Aleksandrovych, Ukrainian actor, artist, teacher, scenographer and professional performer, and Iryna Ozarynska, Ukrainian professional artist, teacher, and curator of international art projects.
“Evacuation 2022” was implemented as part of the “Voices of Occupation” civil advocacy campaign of the “PLATFORM FOR THE RELEASE OF POLITICAL PRISONERS” Charitable Foundation.
By design, the path of evacuation is always the path of a miracle, because evacuation is like resurrection. People who should have died remain alive. Therefore, evacuation is a mystical ritual of prolonging life.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has caused about 6.3 million people to flee their homes. The waves of evacuation stretching for miles on the roads formed a sea of despair. People left everything behind. How can you put all your life in a single suitcase? One can flee a war, though one’s soul and heart yearn for home. Evacuation is death-like, the soul departing the body and war leaves traces on our identities forever.

Thousands of people were waiting for evacuation trains on Friday morning in Kramatorsk, desperate to flee heavy Russian shelling across the Donetsk region. As the crowds were waiting for the first train to be evacuated to safer regions, the railway was hit at 10.30 local time. Nearly 4,000 people – mainly women and children – were at the station then. Over 100 were injured, and 50 dead, including children.

War is an evil that knows no bounds: 97% of targets in Ukraine are civilians. Russia targets civilians to sow chaos and terror. However, the more we feel despair, the more motivated we will be to overcome it
